I need good websites for Yekaterinburg?

Just some of the few things I need to find:

Are graphite, wood, metal and oil readily available?

Are there existing factories in the area?

Is there easy access to foriegn markets?

Literacy rate, unemployment rate and population.

Are there cultural attractions?

Are ther any natural disasters or environmental concerns?

Is a wide variety of food available?

Are there any natural energy sources available? What kinds?

It would also be great if I could answer the same questions for St. Petersburg too.

Tey www.uralterra.com/ekaterinburg-russia/

ekaterinburg-russia/ -- yes you repeat it twice.

If you go to the home screen there%26#039;s a good map; but the page that comes up with that address has some of the info you want.

The main branch of your public library might have a book that covers what you want -- ask about statistics for Russia, or Sverdlovsk region in Russia.

Heh heh... I have the same project too, and here%26#039;s what I got for a few of the questions (I couldn%26#039;t find the answers to all of them, though):

Easy access to foreign markets: Yes, it%26#039;s located on a river and at the junction of multiple railways.

Population: Around 1.3 million

Cultural Attractions: There aren%26#039;t many, but some of them include: The Soviet-Afghan War Memorial, an old church, and a large flea/street market.

Yeah... thats all I have. Long way to go still =\

By the way: MACAT, right?

EDIT: I%26#039;m pretty sure it%26#039;s due Monday... and Senecal said that if we can%26#039;t find information on Literacy and Unemployment rates, we can just use the ones that are for all of Russia.|||Grolier is great for finding answers about oil, and access to foreign markets. Searching restaurants or cuisine along with the city helps you find out what kind of food the city has and the same goes with culture. Most cities have their own weather site.

I couldn%26#039;t find the individual unemployment rate for either of my cities or the literacy rate, so I talked about the colleges in the city and Russia%26#039;s national statistics. I don%26#039;t think these cities, except for Moscow or St. Petersburg, are big enough to have all the information on one website. Oh. World Fact Book is where I got the national statistics because Senecal has to think it%26#039;s the best, and might challenge any other numbers.

I don%26#039;t want to give out the password for our schools grolier account over the internet, but you can email me at ungandrestless@hotmail.com

When is this assignment due anyway?
