wait....it says here that unemployment rate is below avg and has been on the decline. What a bunch of crap O%26#039;Reilly%26#039;s been telling me about how they%26#039;re stealing our jobs!!! Especially when non-taxing paying jobs are not even counted on the job census...meaning there has been an increasing amount of tax paying employees. So what do you think?
Why are illegal immigrants stealing our jobs???credit bureau
that is alittle confusing. How can unemployment be at record lows when he defends the economy but immigrants steal jobs when hes talking about immigration.
Why are illegal immigrants stealing our jobs??? loan
...does it really matter what I think?|||I think the Bush administration is more responsible for job losses than illegals. They have destroyed the economy with this illegal war.|||they are...
at the nursing home i used to work at in highschool.
they literally fired the entire cook and waiter staff (including myself), and rehired all (guess what kind of people).
although that was 3 years ago, i would be more than willing to bet its still happening.
together along with low end position outsourcing, it%26#039;s leading to a deterioration of the middle class in this country.|||its because they work harder than most americans, for less money, so if wal mart and other companies that hired them didnt have an incentive to hire them, they wouldnt, but if you can get twice the work for the same or less money, they%26#039;ll do it. but yes, thats one reason the job market in this country sucks is because a lof of illegal immigrants get hired over americans|||They%26#039;re not yours to be stolen from. Haven%26#039;t you been listening to the free market people and capitalists? What is happening is a logical consequence of our economy. The excess of contradictory laws are finally causing our top heavy judiciary and criminal justice system to implode.
If you don%26#039;t get a reform of the immigration system-- and I don%26#039;t mean amnesty, I mean a total reform-- you will see more and more jobs go to those who are willing to take less money for them.
You don%26#039;t like it? Then fight the power! Stand up like a man. Stop whining and do something about it.|||In a nutshell. I completely blame it on the employers. Our money is worth so much more in their countries. The employers will hire the illegals for alot less and therefore it takes jobs from the citizens. The illegals then use that money for their families in their countries.|||Illegal immigrants shouldn%26#039;t be here period!
They could at lease learn english. I live in California and Spanish is written all over the place. I hate it!
I say round them up and send them all back in a box car.
Secure the borders and shoot anyone who trys to pass it.
Here is something that will get you pissed off!
http://michellemalkin.com/2006/03/29/the...|||I think they%26#039;re stealing our jobs because we are too lazy to go out and do our own lawn work and we think we are above hard labor. And we want the cushiest life we can get and imigrants are willing to do whatever it takes (jobwise) to get paid. We are just way too lazy. And it%26#039;s our own fault.
If you%26#039;re really complaining about it, You go out and mow peoples lawns and deal with peoples horrible attitudes all day and listen to them tell you how worthless and stupid you are.
They do more work in one day then most of us do in a month.
It%26#039;s hardly their fault that we don%26#039;t have the capacity to guarantee they get their green cards.|||Its a risk-reward situation. For the employer the risk of getting caught with an %26quot;illegal labor force%26quot; doesn%26#039;t outweigh the reward of lower labor costs. As for why the immigrants would steal %26quot;our jobs%26quot; well would you rather work for minimum wage (or less) here (say $3.00 and hour) or would you rather make $1.00 an hour or less back home???
The fact is there is truth in many of the previous answers, but until politicians start looking at the whole picture and write laws and vote on them with integrity rather than how their %26quot;fundraisers%26quot; ask them to vote (labor unions or major corps. depending on party) then we%26#039;ll continue to see a decline in the job market.
However the economy continues to be strong for the last 10+ years. The only blip on the screen was the 6 months or so following 9/11, and umm...I don%26#039;t believe Bush or any other President was responsible for that.
Frankly if you remember History/Government from school, the Legislative branch, which writes the federal budget and writes the laws (including the tax code) has much more control over the economy than the President. Yes he can veto laws, but he can%26#039;t write them.|||Not that I am for illegal immigration, but they are mostly taking the jobs that the legal citizens don%26#039;t want. They will work for less than minimum wage and do hard labor jobs no one else wants to do. It really bugs me how they get a lot of aid from the gov%26#039;t. They can get welfare, dont have to pay taxes, own nicer cars half of america, can buy large homes, AND get full scholarships to college because they immigrated here(illegally). This just doesn%26#039;t make sense...|||Listen up...gonna give you the worse case scenario of not controlling available workers for jobs.
Mogadishu....Read about that first...
Then ...immigrants coming here help worsen the overall economic climate for workers...they are willing to get ****** over...they will accept many jobs Americans will not for the wages offered....therefore companies do have to compete and have no incentive to compete for workers or improve working environments. There is more to this and more things to factor in but you just need to look that up yourself.
Letting light or even heavy industries leave can have less harmful effects on the economy they travel to. In the case of the U.S and Mexico or even the two Americas combined, we give up the opportunity of creating comparative advantage model that provide all parties involved with trade in said model to have more goods and services for the same labor hours.
Among moderately skilled workers, illegal workers are less likely to sue in situations that most certainly call for such action . Where companies are violating labor law an illegal immigrant has to weigh risk of being caught against any want to be treated fairly. This manifests itself in many workers%26#039; compensation and insurance situations. Often illegal workers will simply not report accidents or complain of unsafe, even deadly work environments out of fear. Read up on these subjects and try to stick to using sober sources.....
Automation for the agricultural industry in the U.S is long overdue. Money given to employers to help them research their labor issues was expected to go into just that. Much of this money has come from private sources but even government money has been spent on it. This automation and other possible improvements to the industry to make it more productive could (it would and still can) make a single employee鈥檚 labor hours worth more and allow this industry to offer more money to labor. Instead of moving forward, employers, seeing only the immediate benefit and not working toward long term security for their industry, have trapped themselves and become addicted to this cheap labor. Again, incentive is the key factor in this decision.
Just how long do you want me to go on鈥︹€ead up on this subject a bit more before you open your mouth...... These immigrants are not taking jobs from Americans鈥?they are doing far worse鈥hey are stopping the creation of better earning jobs here in the U.S. and also stopping much needed jobs from being created in their native lands. This is a lose 鈥?lose situation in progress for everyone in the long term. In the short term it鈥檚 a win - win scenario for larger companies here in the U.S.
This win for larger companies also hurts the efficiency of our economy (even distribution of wealth), which can have disastrous results for the middle class in our nation and the world. There is so much more too this subject than just are petty sentiments. Notice how many of the very rich in our country (with much exception) are now taking such a moderate stance on immigration right now. This stance being led from the top down(George Bush for example) and when talked about to the public rarely if ever includes anything about economics and everything about watch words and catch phrases. Its like watching a Nike commercial only with less substance and no product worth buying at all much less at the high price that is now and will in the future be paid but everyone involved. Everyone but the wealthiest members of our societies鈥||%26quot;stealing%26quot; %26quot;our%26quot; job???
Do you want to be a cleaner? a fruit picker? or even worse?
In any case, would you like to be exploited working overtime and been paid crap?
If you answer %26quot;yes%26quot; to all these question, then on behalf of these illegal immigrants you are talking about, sorry for stealing %26quot;your%26quot; job.
Nevertheless, I seriously doubt that there are any immigrant, least illegal one, in jobs you would like to have!
So YOU should thank them for doing the jobs you do not want to do!|||calm down. They are only taking jobs you don%26#039;t want to do. And they are talking jobs that probably don%26#039;t even exists in your area. So don%26#039;t complain about a job an illegal took hundreds of miles away.|||You%26#039;ve been tagged enough... not even worth weighing in on. I need to get back the points I lost earlier asking a question in which I did not make any spelling or grammatical errors.
Far enough back in our ancestry- we%26#039;re all immigrants.
Don%26#039;t blame people who take initiative to have a better life for ANYONE NOT having a job.
that%26#039;s 2!!!!
