Gas prices are NOT low. Not even close. Gas prices were only just over $1 per gallon when Bush took over office. Prior to that, in many places in the U.S., you could find gas as low as 80 cents per gallon in 1998. Oil was trading for around $18 per barrel.

Since then, gas has gone up and over $3 per gallon in most of the country. It is still in the mid to high $2 range (currently $2.55 where I live). Oil is trading at over $60 per barrel (that%26#039;s more than triple for the math challenged).

Unemployment has nothing to do with the president, much like availability of jobs has nothing to do with the president. When they say %26quot;I created 300,000 new job last year%26quot;, they are spinning the facts. The president doesn%26#039;t even manage fiscal policy, so adjusting various interest rates to tweak the economny doesn%26#039;t even come from him. That comes from the Chairman of the Federal Reserve. Jobs are created or lost based on the economy, and usually based on the rates that companies have to pay interest on their loans. Rates go up, companies pay more interest, jobs are lost. Rates go down, companies have more money in their pockets, people get hired.

We are not %26quot;winning the war in Iraq%26quot; any more than we %26quot;won the war in Vietnam%26quot;. This isn%26#039;t a war that can be %26quot;won%26quot;, actually. If you mean that Iraq is closer to being a democracy than before we invaded, that is debatable. We will only have %26quot;won%26quot; once our troops are home and not dying for the Iraqi people. Incidentally, how much have the Iraqi people paid in taxes to support the salaries of our military personnel? Oh, that%26#039;s right, they don%26#039;t. It is the money from OUR taxes taken out of OUR salaries that pay for our troops. People forget that very easily and conveniently.

Bush is not a good president. He%26#039;s not even average. He has made terrible decisions regarding the use of our military. He has done nothing to improve his own image in front of his own citizens. He didn%26#039;t definitely win either election, instead relying on recounts and/or threats of recount. With approval ratings as low as they are, how can anyone think he%26#039;s doing a good job? (And yes, I%26#039;m aware that polls are skewed %26amp; biased, but even the conservative, Republican polls have him in the 35% range.)|||This President Bush has violated several international laws and many domestic laws. He cannot be considered good in any definition of the word. Good people do not break laws especially when they are in positions or power. In many countries he would have been thrown out of office and criminally charged. He had nothing to do with gas prices they are set by the oil speculators.
